Why is the wrong email address on my Apple Pay orders?
Because Apple Pay fills in the order form itself. systeme.io states that the contact and delivery details stored in a customer's Apple Pay wallet, including their email, take priority over anything they had already typed into the form and overwrite it.
What actually happens at the moment of payment
When a customer pays with Apple Pay, systeme.io pulls the contact and delivery details stored against that Apple Pay wallet, name, email, phone number and address, and drops them into your order form in place of what is already there.
systeme.io is direct about the order of priority. That auto-filled data wins over anything the customer typed by hand, even if they had already filled in a different address themselves before tapping to pay.
Why that is not always the address you would expect
Apple Pay is not reading the order form and checking it matches. It is replacing it outright. If the email saved against a customer's Apple ID is an old one, a work address they no longer check, or not the one they meant to buy with that day, that is the address that reaches you, regardless of what was on screen a moment earlier.
What that email then controls
A customer can type one address, pay with Apple Pay, and have the whole purchase recorded against a different one entirely, with neither of you noticing until something sent to the typed address never turns up.
What is actually worth checking
Not the order form and not your systeme.io settings. The answer sits inside the customer's own Apple Pay wallet, because that is where the address came from. A support conversation about a missing confirmation email is often really a question about which address Apple Pay had on file that day, not about anything systeme.io did to the order.
