Why is there a systeme.io badge on my page, and can I get rid of it?

What it actually is

Not a fixed piece of branding. It is a checkbox on the page itself, and systeme.io's own name for it is Display an affiliate badge to earn lifetime commissions.

Open the page in the editor, click Settings, and scroll to the Affiliation section. That box, ticked, is what puts the badge on the page.

What happens when a visitor clicks it

They are redirected to systeme.io through your own affiliate link. Every systeme.io account already has one of these, whether or not it has ever been used on purpose.

So the badge is not systeme.io advertising itself on a page for nothing. It is systeme.io's own affiliate programme, running through a widget you can place, with the commission going to you.

The plan restriction

Removing it means unchecking the same box. systeme.io states this outright: users on the free plan cannot remove the affiliate badge. A Startup, Webinar or Unlimited subscription can.

Both of the articles describing this setting name a sales funnel page as what is needed to follow them. Neither one covers a blog page or a Websites page directly, so what the badge does on those page types is not something this answer can confirm either way.

A different badge, in a different place

A "Sent with systeme.io" line in the email footer is a separate setting, controlled from Settings, then Emails, and restricted the same way: removable on a paid plan, not on free. The two get confused with each other, because both are systeme.io's own affiliate link and both are blocked on the same plan, but they live on different screens and have to be switched off on their own.
