Does a quiz stop a student moving on to the next module?

What is documented for certain

A quiz is built inside a module, under Assets, then Courses, then the course, then the module's three-dot menu, Create a quiz for this module. Once questions and answers are added, Activate Quiz puts it in front of students.

Two rules sit in that same article. First, the quiz only becomes accessible after every lesson in its module has been marked complete. Second, a student who tries to open a lecture in the next module before completing the current one is shown a message blocking them.

The part that is not nailed down

Those two rules sit next to each other in the same article, but they are not explicitly tied together. The second rule says a student needs to complete "the current one" before moving on. It does not say whether that means every lecture, or every lecture plus the quiz.

The sentence about the block appears right after the instructions for deactivating a quiz, which reads as though it is describing what happens when a quiz is the thing left unfinished. But its own wording never uses the word quiz. Nothing rules out the same message appearing on a module with no quiz at all, triggered by an unfinished lecture instead.

This is also the only place in the help centre that mentions a block on moving between modules. There is no separate article about course progression in general to check it against.

A second document that skips quizzes entirely

The article on certificates ties a student's overall progress to lectures alone: a student must mark all lectures in the course as complete to reach 100% progress. It does not mention quizzes at all, even though a course can use both features side by side.

That does not settle the module-to-module question above, since a certificate's 100% and a single module's completion could work on different logic. But it is a second place where systeme.io's own documentation is silent on exactly the same point: whether a quiz counts as something a student has to finish.

What is not documented at all

Whether a quiz needs to be passed, in the sense of getting a minimum number of answers right, is never stated. The quiz-building article only covers marking each answer correct or incorrect while you write the questions, in your own editor, not a pass mark that gates anything. systeme.io even builds a "Module completed" trigger for automations, and its own article for that trigger does not explain what makes a module count as completed either.
