Does a sales limit count units sold or orders placed?
Sales, not units. A physical order for ten items still counts as one sale toward the limit, and the limit is shared across every price plan on the same offer rather than counted separately for each one.
The field is labelled in units. The count is not.
Setting a sales limit means typing a number into a field systeme.io itself calls the maximum number of units. Its own example asks you to enter 100 to cap a product at 100 units.
The notes underneath contradict that label for physical products. systeme.io states that when a physical product is sold, the quantity in the order is not taken into account, and the order always counts as a single sale. Someone who buys ten units in one order uses up one place against the limit, not ten.
Every price plan shares the same limit
The limit sits on the offer, not on any one price plan. systeme.io states it applies to all of an offer's price plans together, whether they are one-shot, subscription or payment plan.
An offer with a one-time price and a payment-plan option on the same page is not two limits. A sale through either one counts against the same total.
What is not said
Whether a subscription's later renewal payments count again toward the limit, or only the sale that started it counts once, is not addressed anywhere in the article. A sale is defined clearly enough for a one-time payment and not defined at all for a recurring one.
Setting it and removing it
On the payment page, click the plus icon next to Sales Limit, enter the number, and choose a page to redirect visitors to once it is reached. Changes save automatically. systeme.io also emails you as the limit gets close and again once it is hit.
To remove a limit, click the trash icon next to it and confirm.
