Can I change the email students get when they join my course?

Short answer

No. systeme.io states plainly that this email cannot be modified. It is the same fixed template sent to every student, whether they bought the course, opted in through an automation rule, or were added by hand, and there is no option to reword it, and no documented way to turn it off.

systeme.io's own answer is a flat no

Asked directly whether this email can be modified, systeme.io's help centre answers in one line: this is currently not possible. It is the same template sent to every customer as soon as they enroll in a course.

The email itself carries a congratulatory message written on your behalf, the student's username, and a link for them to set their own password. None of that wording is yours to change.

It fires on every documented enrollment route

systeme.io lists several ways a contact becomes a student, and its own article on the subject states that every one of them ends the same way: an automatic email to log in and access the content.

  • Buying the course through a funnel's order form.
  • Opting in on a form tied to an automation rule that enrolls them.
  • Being added by hand, one at a time.
  • Being tagged, where the tag triggers an automation rule that enrolls a whole group at once.

The article on adding a single student by hand is just as direct: once added, the system automatically emails the student their login credentials and a link to the course. No route is documented that skips it, and no setting is documented that turns it off.

What you can do instead

Resend it. Open the student's file under Assets, then Courses, then Students, go to their Enrollments section, and pick Resend the access email from the three-dot menu.

That sends the same fixed template again. It is a way to get it back in front of someone who lost or missed it, not a way to change what it says.

Compare: the drip lecture email is fully yours

Not every course email is locked down. The notification that tells a student a new dripped lecture is ready lets you set the subject, the sender name, the sender email address, and write the whole body yourself in the editor.

So the customization tool exists in the product. That option is not attached to the first email a student ever receives, though. If a branded welcome message matters to you, it will have to arrive through a different channel, since the enrollment email itself is not where it can go.
