Why isn't my funnel deadline working?
systeme.io's requirement is that the prospect has already subscribed, and that the subscription form page links to the deadline page either directly or indirectly. Where there is no opt-in form at all, it says the pages stay available to prospects even after the deadline has passed. The feature also works only on Order form and Sales page steps.
Without an email address there is no deadline
systeme.io's requirement is specific. For the deadline settings to work, the prospect must have subscribed already, and the subscription form page should link to the deadline page either directly or indirectly. Its reason is that the system must have the prospect's email address to display the page with the deadline.
It gives three scenarios. In the third, a sales funnel with deadlines and no opt-in form leaves those pages available to prospects even after the deadline has passed.
The opt-in does not have to sit in the same funnel, which is worth knowing before anybody rebuilds anything. Its second scenario is a funnel without deadlines carrying the opt-in page, redirecting to a funnel page with a deadline, and there the deadline still expires. What matters is that the person subscribed and that the form page leads to the page carrying the deadline.
Only two kinds of page can carry one
Order form and Sales page. systeme.io names some of the ones that cannot: opt-in pages, inline forms and thank you pages among them.
One wrinkle if you open the article itself. It names Order Form and Sales Page in three places, and once calls them "order forms and payment pages", so its own wording is not consistent on the second type.
The clock is the account's, not the contact's
Ticking the box for a specific expiry time reads that time in the account's time zone rather than the contact's. systeme.io's own example: select 08:00 and the page expires at 08:00 on the sixth day after the lead is registered.
It counts from each person's own start
A deadline applies to each prospect, so every one of them gets the same access period regardless of when they registered. Set the Deadline page expires in field to 6 days and the funnel step is no longer available 6 days after that contact registers.
Once someone's deadline passes they are redirected to a page of your choice, and systeme.io says any page type can be selected for that.
Pointing a countdown at it
Where a countdown timer is already in the funnel, selecting Same as the deadline funnel settings in the page editor syncs the two automatically. Countdown timers have an answer of their own here.
Where the settings live
Open the sales funnel and click Deadline settings, then Enable deadline feature. The pages a deadline applies to are chosen in the same sequence, and systeme.io's closing step is to save the Deadline settings when you have finished.
