Can I undo resetting a student's progress?

Short answer

Not by yourself. systeme.io gives you a 1-month grace period after a reset in which support can restore the data, but there is no undo button in your own account. You will need to contact them with the account email, the student's email, and the course name.

Where the reset happens, and how systeme.io describes it

Go to Assets, then Courses, then the Students tab, then click the student's email address. In the Enrollments section, open the three-dot menu and choose Reset progress, then confirm.

systeme.io's own wording for that click is worth reading closely. Selecting Reset progress is described as revoking the student's access to the course, and the confirmation popup that follows calls it resetting the progress. Both descriptions point at the same action, so expect the student to be knocked back to the start of the course rather than locked out of it for good.

The window to undo it

A 1-month grace period follows every reset. Inside that window, the reset data can still be recovered.

Recovery is not self-service. It goes through systeme.io's support team, and they ask for three specific things: the account's own email address, the student's email address, and the name of the course. The only recovery route the article describes is through support; no article describes a self-service way to undo a reset.

What happens once the 1-month window closes is not stated. The article only promises recovery inside that period, and says nothing about what becomes possible, or impossible, once it has passed.

What the documentation does not say

A few real questions are left open. Whether the restored data includes quiz answers as well as lecture progress goes unmentioned. Whether a drip schedule picks up where it left off, or restarts its delays from day one, goes unmentioned. Whether the student is notified when their progress is reset, or when it is restored, goes unmentioned too.

If any of that matters for a specific student, the safer route is to ask support directly when you raise the recovery request, rather than assume an answer.

Compare: deleting a student has no such window

Reset progress is the gentler of two ways to wipe a student's progress. The other, removing the student entirely, is documented with no bin and no grace period at all. Once a student is removed, the progress is gone for good. If there is any chance you will want the history back, resetting rather than deleting is the one systeme.io documents a way out of.
