What happens to my funnels if I downgrade or stop paying?

Short answer

The funnels are kept, not deleted. An account over the limits of its new plan gets three days of warnings and is restricted on the fourth, and a move between two paid plans is arranged with systeme.io support rather than clicked.

Nothing is deleted on the day

Moving to a smaller plan does not wipe the funnels and courses that no longer fit. systeme.io states that content is not automatically deleted when an account is restricted, and its support team gives the same answer for extra funnels and courses after a downgrade.

What changes is what the account is allowed to do next.

The three days you get first

An account over the limits of its new plan does not stop working at once. A pre-restriction period runs: three warning emails, one a day, and an alert on the dashboard.

If nothing has been brought back inside the limits by the fourth day, the restriction is applied automatically.

Where to see what is over

Profile picture, then Settings, then My plan. Anything above the limit appears in red in the subscription summary table, so the list of what to remove is written for you.

That page is reserved for the account owner. An assistant cannot see it, and neither can an administrator.

How a downgrade is actually done

Upgrading is self-service. Downgrading is not.

systeme.io asks you to contact support and name the plan you want to switch to. The team sends back a custom order form for that plan, which has to be filled in with the same email address as the account. Once that is complete, you tell the team so they can cancel the previous subscription.

So a move between two paid plans is a support ticket, not a button.

The trick that gets an account under a limit

A funnel that is not in use can be deactivated instead of deleted, and a deactivated funnel is not counted against the plan limits.

To deactivate one: Sites, then Sales funnels, then the three dots beside the funnel, then Deactivate, then Confirm on the popup.

It stays in the account either way. To find it again, set the funnel list filter to Inactive and click Filter. The three dots then offer Activate, which puts the funnel back once the plan has room for it.

That is the practical route into a cheaper plan without throwing work away.

What stopping payment does

A paid subscription that is cancelled sends the account back to the free plan, and systeme.io lists that as one of only two things that trigger a restriction. The other is passing the contact limit.

The outcome is the same as a deliberate downgrade. The assets stay put and the four day clock starts.

The rule that catches people out

On a paid plan, going over the limits does not restrict the account. systeme.io upgrades the subscription to the next tier automatically so that service is not interrupted.

A downgrade that is not tidied up first can therefore cost more rather than less. Getting back down again means removing the excess content, then contacting support to request the downgrade a second time.
